The What, Why, Where and When of Quick Hitch Brackets
Its very frustrating to find what seems like a good or great deal on the new to you plow or snowblower only to later learn you are missing many pieces needed to mount it on your tractor. This is VERY common and we deal with this daily. These questions and answer will help to point you in the right direction to get these brackets so you can get your new blade or blower mounted and use it.
Q. 1.- Why are so many brackets and other critical mounting pieces missing from these blade and blowers for sale?
A. 1.- When many customers buy a new tractor and add a plow or blower or both, the dealer initially installs the brackets on the customers tractor. When the tractor is delivered to them, they don’t think about the brackets because they didn’t install them and they don’t remove them seasonally. In most cases, its an “honest oversight” by the sellers as they didn’t install the brackets originally and each season they remove only the main removable parts such as the front quick hitch, some of the brackets and these are the total of what they sell.
Q. 2. -What are the most common missing brackets for 1 series and 2 series machines?
A. 2.- If the blade or blower kit doesn’t have the LVU22047 bracket on the front of the tractor, here are the percentage of other brackets missing or not included in the deal;
98% are missing the frame mounting brackets that mount under the engine, on the frame rails of the tractors. These brackets are either the (2) LVU25908 frame brackets or the (2) LVU34571 Mower and Hitch brackets. We make and sell both of these brackets with the proper hardware, which is VERY important.
80% are missing the Main Hitch Bracket, which is the large bracket that mounts between the frame rails and pins in place with the large pin. These brackets are either the LVA22590 or the LVA21000 large brackets. These brackets have the PTO shaft bearing mounts in the center. Its VERY important you get the correct one of these brackets for your needs. We can help you make sure you get the right bracket or your hitch won’t mount.
80% are also missing the Main Hitch Bracket shims and the special bolt and nut that hold them on the Main Hitch Bracket. These shims are LVU31514 and you need either (2) if you are using the LVA21000 bracket or (3) if you are using the LVA22590.
Also, many of those who do have the LVA22590 or LVA21000 brackets are still missing the shims. These keep the hitch from sliding side to side and they protect your hitch from wear and damage.
45% are missing the (2) LVU29536 Triangle Mounting Support brackets, These bolt to the sides of the Main Quick Hitch. These brackets are critical for supporting the large main hitch on the tractor.
40% are missing the LVU13765, the long pin that holds the main Hitch bracket through the frame mounted brackets. It’s the only bracket that pins on the hitch. This is a specialized Metric Pin and needs to be right.
Now, let’s get specific about what YOUR tractor is missing. We can break this down to help you know what you need.
It’s very model specific and the brackets must be used in these combinations to obtain the results fromYOUR TRACTOR.

Next Important missing item the Front PTO Kit
If you have any of the front PTO kit, now its time to see exactly what you have and what’s missing. This is really important.
The second largest bracket is also the 2nd most expensive bracket in the entire hitch kit.
Very Important Point to be aware of. The PTO Bracket, which Deere refers to as the Main Hitch Bracket, is NOT part of the PTO kit. The bracket is sold as part of the Front Quick Hitch Mounting Kit.
This bracket ranges between $685 and $775 for just the Front Quick Hitch mounting bracket and its critical to the use of the hitch. Make sure to carefully consider how this bracket is obtained in order to get the best deal from the used implement kit you purchased.
Also, make sure to look at the parts images and photos and read our other information about Quick Hitch Identification so you know the differences in these bracket to make sure you get the brackets you need and not those which won’t meet your needs. The differences in these brackets is often minor and requires careful consideration.
Situation 1. -Let’s assume have the correct Main Hitch bracket / PTO bracket and need the other brackets. What are your choices?
Buy just the brackets you need, this is likely the best deal for you.
Buy the other brackets in a mounting kit You end up with duplicate brackets you don’t need but those you do need.
Trade the wrong brackets towards the right brackets. Understand, the used brackets are worth about 10% of new because we make the new brackets ourselves. Plus all used brackets have to be refinished.
Situation 2.- You have the wrong bracket. Your choices for action include
Buying the mounting kit since you need multiple brackets
Trading the brackets you have to help reduce costs
Identify the brackets you need based upon your tractor model and which implement you are putting on the tractor.
A common misunderstanding and point of confusion is that the 2nd biggest bracket and center of the Hitch is the Main Hitch Bracket. It supports the PTO shaft but its part of the Quick Hitch Attachment kit. This is the bracket either LVA22590 or LVA21000.
Often, people have this bracket because the owner removed it and installed it annually. Also, if they have a snow blower the bracket carries the bearings for the shaft. If you are missing other brackets, but have one of these two, will determine which other brackets you are going to need.
The LVA21000 has a notch in the left front when looking at it. The LVA22590 is straight across the top of the bracket and no notch.
The PTO Kit is also something to check very Carefully.
The PTO shaft is the most costly item and if you ha ve the wrong PTO shaft, you will find buying the new PTO kit is likely the lease expensive way to get the correct shaft.
Most of the PTO components are the same for the 1 series and the 2 series machines. If you have the correct PTO bracket with all of the RIO sensor, harness, bearings, etc in it and you have the wrong PTO shaft, you can look for the PTO shaft to purchase. Some very important warnings to be aware of for the PTO shafts for the front Quick Hitches for the 1 series and Gen 2, 2025r machines.
The shafts with the multiple joints are those to stay away from. Deere originally started with a CV joint style shaft, but had repeated failures and after two or three variations, ended with the current single length PTO shaft with the traditional Universal joints.
Make sure the PTO is complete as possible for RIO harness, etc. as those parts are very expensive and it cheaper to purchase the entire PTO kit as it is to purchase pieces of the RIO harness, etc.
Paying attention you can put together the brackets you need and avoid wasting time and money. When buying pre-owned make sure to verify everything yourself as the PTO shafts are 73” long for the 2025r PTO and 65” for the 1025r.
It’s crucial to know all of the parts and pieces in your entire kit as the parts can add up very quickly. Make sure to check the parts man uals and study the parts to be aware of the parts which should be included. This will help you ask the questions of the seller and hopefully, allow you to gather as much of the parts, pieces and brackets as possible to reduce the time and expense of putting them together later.
Don’t Forget these Important parts

The Heavy Duty Front Snowblower uses the front 3 point hitch.
If you are considering a Heavy Duty Front Snow blower for the Deere 1 or 2 series machines, please note they use a front 3 point hitch and none of these brackets are used on the installation of the 47”, the 54”, the 59” or the 60” Heavy Duty front snowblowers.
