Poly / Polyethylene Snowblower Pavement Protection Products for Deere Snowblowers
Don’t see your make or model of snowblower listed? Contact us, we are adding new products weekly to our website.
The snowblower steel surfaces damage your driveway with each pass.
Asphalt and Concrete are both damaged by the steel scraping.
Driveway abrasion damage is unsightly and reduces property values.
The scraping also wear out the snowblower housing over time.
Your snowblower clears the driveway by scraping it with a sharp steel “wear edge” on all blowers.
The blowers steel shoes also scrape the driveway . The more the steel scrapes the driveway, the sharper it gets and the more damage it causes.
Why continue to damage the driveway surface when you have a choice?
You wouldn’t wash your car with an S.O.S. steel wool pad as it would destroy the paint finish. Why clean the snow off your driveway with the steel wear edge and shoes that damage the driveway surface with every clearing pass?
Replace your snowblowers steel wear edge and shoes with our UHMW products made to exclusively fit your snowblower.
What is UHMW and why is it superior for all surface friction contact?
UHMW is
Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Plastic, a very high end plastic product.
the strongest and lowest friction specialty plastic material in the world.
It was created to dramatically reduce friction between two surfaces.
It’s used to clear airport runways and other critical use surfaces.
Smart homeowners are now using it to stop damaging their driveway when they clear snow and ice with their snowblower, plows or pushers.
Each Spring, homeowners who have cleared their driveway with a steel wear edge, are shocked to see the scrape and scratch marks on the pavement. The gouges and scratches look terrible on the driveway and most don’t want to continue causing this damage. The marks will rust over time and look like the pictures in this product listing.
UHMW clears the pavement like steel, without the wear and damage
We sell the pair of UHMW Shoes Separately
We Sell the UHMW Wear Bar Separately
But they work the best when combined into what we call our

Install easily and perfectly fit your snowblower. NO cutting, drilling or modifications are needed to install on your blower.
Installs with basic hand tools in 30 to 60 minutes for most.
Simply remove the steel wear bar and shoes and replace them with our UHMW wear bar and shoes.
We include stainless hardware so the bolts and nuts won’t rust.
Eliminate the screeching, scraping and scratching of the steel on the pavement surface each time you clear snow.
Our UHMW products last a long time and provide seasons of pavement clearing before needing replacement for those with average driveways.
What comments do we hear consistently from customers after installing and using our Pavement Protection Products for snowblowers, snow plows or pushers?

“The blower doesn’t leave rust stains on the garage floor or driveway any longer. That is an added benefit.”
“The blower slides so easily now, it requires less power from the tractor.”
“I LOVE being able to clear path’s on grass and the lawn without tearing up the grass the way the steel edge and shoes did.”
These UHMW wear bars replace Deere Part Numbers shown of the original equipment steel wear bars.
47” Quick Hitch Snowblower- M135649 Curved Wear Bar

Deere uses a number of different shoes on their blowers. We made our UHMW shoes to fit all Quick Hitch or All Heavy Duty Blowers, so the shoe part number isn’t important. Just make sure you properly select either Quick Hitch or Heavy Duty Shoes and our UHMW shoes will fit your blower.
How to identify the Deere Quick Hitch or Heavy Duty Snowblower
Ordering the right parts for your snowblower
Determine if your John Deere front mounted snowblower is a “Quick Hitch” or “Quik Tach” style blower or a Heavy Duty Blower. Here are some very important differences to help you determine.
Please note, these clues and details all apply to blowers which are shaft driven from the tractor. If your blower is belt driven, its not a Quick Hitch or Heavy Duty Blower. Don‘t fret, we also make Pavement protection for those blowers, they are just listed elsewhere on our site.
There should be a decal on the snowblower saying either “Heavy Duty” or “Quick Hitch or “Quik Tach”, identifying its model.
If you also use a snowplow on the same hitch you hook the snowblower to, you have a Quick Hitch Blower.
If the hitch your blower is mounted upon on the tractor can also angle side to side when the hoses are connected, its a Quick Hitch Blower.
If your snowblower is mounted with a “Front 3 Point Hitch”, its a Heavy Duty Blower.
Please note, there are pictures of the Front 3 point Hitch and the Quick Hitch mounts in the items pictures to help you identify. We also included copies of the steel wear bars used on these blowers to help you identify your blower type.
The wear bar under the Quick Hitch Blowers is “curved” or like an upside down “U” with short legs. The legs scrape the pavement. There is a picture of a Quick Hitch wear bar in the item photos.
On the Heavy Duty Blowers, the wear bars are flat pieces of steel mounted on an angle under the blower. The Heavy Duty wear bars have no curve, no legs and should be flat in shape, but mounted so the wear bar is at an angle to the pavement.
Also, any blower that is wider than 55” is a Heavy Duty Blower.
Still Not sure? We are here to help. Please take these pictures and email them to us.
A picture of the blowers I.D. Tag. It should have a Serial Number and Bar code on it.
Take a picture from the front so we can see the entire front of the blower.
Take a picture which shows the blower and where it connects to the tractor. Ideally, the picture should be from the front tire of the tractor to just ahead of the blower
I can always zoom in to see the detail needed to clarify the blower model versus a photo that is too close.
Please note, the color of the blower alone doesn’t indicate its model as both Quick Hitch blowers and Heavy Duty Blowers are made in both Green and Yellow.
Confirm the blowers width / size.
Determine the size of your John Deere Snowblower. It’s either a 47”, 54”, 59” or 60” Snowblower.
The 47” blower is usually 46.5” wide where the 54” is 53.5” wide. The 59” blower is 59” wide as is the model they call the 60” blower, its slightly over 59” wide.
Select the size snowblower button on our site to match your blower.
If you aren’t sure or need help, take a picture of the serial number tag on your blower and forward it to use via email and we can confirm your blower type and make sure you get the correct Pavement Protection Kit.
We also have a page on our website that is titled “ Snowblower I.D.” which explains the different snowblower types. If you still need help, please contact us.
When you receive our order, it will contain;

Let’s talk about the UHMW Shoes for your Snowblower.
The shoes we produce for your blower are shown in the product pictures. They are much larger than the shoes they replace for several reasons, all positive. Our UHMW Blower Shoes;
Mount on the outside of the blower for easy installation.
Are double sided, so they can be flipped over and reinstalled for an entire additional wear surface on the other edge.
Our shoes fit on either end of the blower and they can be turned end for end or flipped over or both, and reinstalled for additional wear use.
Have several adjustment holes and mounting positions for your best fit.
These shoes are much longer and wider than the shoes they replace so you can use your blower on grass surfaces safely if you follow the directions.
These shoes make the blower easier to push, better balanced, more stable front to rear and also they handle curbs and changing surfaces much better than the shoes they replace.
The shoes protect the blower end panels from impact damage since they are longer and transition from one surface to another better than the shoes they replace.
Common Questions and their Answers include;
Q. 1.- Why doesn’t the blower come new from the manufacturer with UHMW wear bars and shoes?
A. 1. - Two reasons. First is Cost, the UHMW material is expensive and our parts require several additional machining steps to produce them, compared to the steel products on the blowers. Second - The steel shoes and wear bars are “wear parts” that are cheap to make and sell for large profits. The more they wear out, the more replacement parts they will sell.
Q. 2. - Will the UHMW wear bars and shoes wear out quickly since they are a specialized version of plastic?
A. 2.- No, UHMW is recognized as the most wear resistant plastic material in the world. It’s used in critical wear parts where surfaces wear on each other, such as the snowblower wear bar on the driveway. Most customers report OUR UHMW wear bars and shoes last as long or even longer than the steel wear bars and shoes they replace when installed and used correctly. It is important the correct down pressure be used on the blower and you avoid excessive down pressure as it simply wears the items more quickly.
Q. 3. - Why shouldn’t I just buy a piece of plastic and mount it to the snowblower to stop the steel grinding on the pavement to save money?
A. 3.- Our UHMW shoes and wear bars are specifically designed for YOUR snowblower make and model. Our products require very specialized machines to produce these products. These aren’t something you can make in your garage or basement.
Q. 4. - Will these UHMW wear bars and shoes reduce the snowblowers snow clearing speed or snow clearing capabilities?
A. 4. - No, the UHMW slides so quietly, easily and smoothly, the blowers function improves while the damage to the pavement stops. Most owners who switch are surprised at how quiet and smoothly their snowblower now works on the pavement.
Q. 5. - Are these UHMW shoes and wear bars difficult to install on my snowblower or do they require special tools or skills?
A. 5. - By making our shoes and wear bars to specifically fit YOUR SNOWBLOWER, we are sending you a direct bolt on replacement product, not a project kit than needs to be cut or drilled or modified to fit your blower. These shoes and wear bars install with basic hand tools and are simple to install. Most people can install remove the steel shoes and wear bar and replace them with our UHMW wear bar and shoes in 30 to 60 minutes.
Q. 6.- What is the most difficult part of replacing the steel wear bars and shoes with our UHMW wear bar and shoes?
A. 6. - The older the snowblower, the more likely the bolts are rusted and even worn down from grinding on the driveway each time the blower is used. The worn and rusty bolts can be more challenging to remove, but certainly not impossible. Some bolts on the steel wear bar may need to be drilled or ground to be removed. The more worn the bolts, the more important it is to replace the steel wear bar and shoes.
Q. 7.- What if I have a physical condition that prevents me or I am otherwise unable to work on the equipment? How do I get my steel wear bar and shoes on my snowblower replaced?
A. 7. - Any small engine repair shop or lawn equipment dealership service department can install these items for you. For professionals who work on equipment every day, this is a 30 minute project to remove the old wear bar and shoes and replace it with the new UHMW wear bar and shoes.
