John Deere HD Snow Blower Drift Cutter Kit

$100.00

Includes Free Ground Shipping to

the Lower 48 States via either UPS or USPS

Sold in pairs with hardware to replace M142728

Designed specifically for the John Deere Heavy Duty front mounted snowblowers. Note, Deere sells these in individual bars and without the mounting hardware. They presently sell one bar for $49.41. We sell the pair of bars with the stainless mounting hardware and shipping for $100.

How Drift Cutter / Cooper Bars are used

These drift cutters are the vertical bars which mount on the ends of the snowblower, to aid in the cutting of the deep snow when the snowblower is being pushed into the snow drifts or other deep snow piles. They are also used as “locator bars” so when in deep snow, you know where the leading edge of the blower is located so you avoid running the blower into fixed objects or items.

The drift cutters mount on the sides of the snowblower end panels on the corners and extend above the blowers to aid in the vertical slicing of deep snow, to help the snow fall down ahead of the blower. I have attached a couple of images from the Deere parts book to show what the OEM drift cutters look like and where they mount on the blower.

Why we call these “Cooper Bars”

These SBS Heavy Duty Drift cutters are called “Cooper Bars” by us at SBS, LLC because our dear friend suggested these bars as his blower shipped with just one of these bars when new. His K9 Pal Cooper is proudly featured on our “K9 Friends” page on our site, so we named these new bars in his K9 pal’s honor, for suggesting that we make these products for the snowblowers.

On the Heavy Duty blowers, our Cooper Bars replace the Deere OEM Part number M142728.

Why we make these out of UHMW Plastic instead of steel

Our Cooper Bars are made from UHMW instead of steel, as the UHMW won’t rust, never need painting or powder coating and they are very strong and will cut the snowdrifts and snow piles which extend above the blower’s housing. The UHMW will flex some if they strike solid objects verses the steel which can damage the blower housing if they strike a solid object.

The Heavy Duty Blowers use our “Super Coopers”, which are

  • longer and stronger than standard Cooper Bars

  • Tough enough to handle the heavy duty blowers snow clearing tasks.

  • These bars mount in the holes on the end panels of the blower.

  • Shipped with stainless steel hardware,

  • The installation of these bars takes 5 minutes

Our Cooper Bars and Super Coopers are sold in pairs, with the hardware. When you order these, our Kit Includes

(2) Two UHMW Drift Cutter Bars, Machined and with mounting holes

(4) Stainless Cap Screws, Flat washers, Nylock Nuts for installation
