A. 1. b.- Depending upon the time of year, custom UHMW shoes can be built and shipped to you usually within 15 to 20 business days (Mon - Fri, excluding holidays, etc) During winter months, its likely to take longer as our business volume is highest when snow needs to be cleared.
Q. 1. c. - Do custom made shoes cost more than UHMW shoes you have on your website? Can you give me an idea of the cost for Custom Made UHMW shoes?
A. 1. c.- The size of the shoes is a very big factor in their cost, based upon the amount and width of UHMW material they require as well as the machine time to produce the shoes. We have made custom shoes which are as small as 5” long and 2.5” tall and 1/2” thick. We just finished a pair of custom blower shoes that were 34” long, 10” tall and 1.5” thick. We will give you a cost once we know the size of the shoes you need.
Q. 1. d.- Is the blowers operating weight important in the development of the replacement UHMW blower shoes?
A. 1. d.- Yes, weight is very important because the purpose of the shoes is to support the snowblower on the pavement. These rear Frontier Snowblowers range in weight from around 1,190 pounds to 1,231 pounds. The shoes need to be much thicker, longer and likely taller to properly carry the larger blowers weight.
The cost differential between the UHMW shoes for the SB1164 and SB1174 model and for these SB1184 and SB1194 blowers is due to these blowers weighing 500 to 550 pounds more than the blowers one size down in the model numbers, requiring the UHMW shoes to be much larger to support the weight.
