What’s the difference between the Regular or Residential Duty, Heavy Duty or Severe / Commercial Duty Edges?
Standard or Residential Duty Edges are
Rubber - 6” tall and 3/4” thick edge, machines to be dual sided with two rows of mounting holes in the rubber edge material.
Heavy Duty Wear Edges are
Rubber - 6” tall and 1” thick and machined to be dual sided with two rows of mounting holes in the rubber material.
Severe / Commercial Duty Wear Edges
These are for those seeking the very best and most durable, long lasting edges for their plows. Designed to be used in a commercial snow plowing operations and made to endure frequent and extensive snow clearing efforts.
Rubber is 6” tall and uses 2 edges which are each 3/4” thick, for a total wear edge of 1.5” thick of our rubber plow edge. The Severe Duty Wear edge uses a heavier and larger UHMW mounting strap to hold this dual layer plow edge material securely on the plow.
The rubber edges are machined with two parallel rows of mounting holes to give the edge adjustment, but also securely hold the rubber edges in place when mounted in the two layers for this Severe Duty Edge.
Despite being dual layers, the rubber edges double sided, so both rubber edges can be flipped over when the first side is worn from use.
Our Severe / Commercial Duty kits include marine grade stainless hardware, which is the premium hardware to avoid any rust or corrosion. This hardware is resistant to the corrosive snow melt chemicals, etc. This hardware will last the length of time to wear away both sides of these Severe Duty wear edges. This hardware costs nearly 5x the cost of standard hardware of the same size.
