CTA Heavy Duty Loader Mounted Plow Top Flap Kit

from $235.00

Free Shipping via Ground Delivery via UPS

and USPS to the Lower 48 States.

This is the SBS, LLC Front plow top flap kit for the CTA Heavy Duty Loader Mounted Plow.

These are larger plows, in fact the heaviest and largest plows CTA offers. These large plows are worthy of a larger top flap kit. Our 8” wide top flap material is ideal for these plows. It’s 3/16” to 1/4” thick (depending upon what our supplier sends us). This material is premium rubber which is not reinforced, so it doesn’t have the strings coming out of it like animal stall mat does. This rubber has a smooth finish and the perfect texture for top flaps on these top of the line plows.

Mounted using our corrosion resistant hardware and the UHMW top flap mounting strap, the finish on the top flap kit is 1st class, as it should be. The rubber is held on the plows top flange by sandwiching the rubber under the UHMW finishing strap. Carriage bolts are holding the UHMW strap, which is square cut to hold the hardware correctly. The hardware is finished with flat washers and Nylock nuts to hold the top flap in place.

We offer an upgrade to Marine Grade Stainless Hardware for an additional charge. Please indicate whether you want the included hardware in the base price or the Hardware all upgraded to Marine grade Stainless Steel Hardware, the most corrosion resistant hardware available.

Installation Time Estimate =

20 to 25 minutes using standard hand tools.

A special note about using Corrosion Resistant or Stainless Hardware.

It’s important to not use impact tools or air ratchets, etc on corrosion resistant or stainless steel hardware. The speed of the installation of the power tools can build heat in the hardware and cause the coating or stainless finish to “gall” or cold weld. You do not want this to happen as it can make removal of the hardware very challenging.

Also, please avoid over tightening the hardware as it distorts the UHMW strap and the rubber and negatively impacts its performance. The instructions includes the hardware torque specs so please make sure they are followed for best results.

Also, its suggested to lubricate all hardware before installation and prior to removal. A spray silicone or other suited lubricant is suggested, such as Amsoil’s Spray Metal Treatment. That’s a lubricant which is designed for moving parts which when applied, dries on the surface and doesn’t attract dirt or debris.

Of course, should you have any questions, please contact us.
