Replace the rubber cutting edge on your Frontier AS10H snow pusher with our Premium UHMW Product. Our UHMW Edges for the Frontier AS10H Series Snow Pusher replace these Deere / Frontier Part Numbers

The 72” wide AS10H pusher Rubber Edge 5FP1352539

The 84” wide AS10H pusher Rubber Edge 5FP1352538

The 96” wide AS10H pusher Rubber Edge 5FP1352467

What is a UHMW edge and how is it different than the rubber edge which is on the Frontier AS10H pusher when new?

UHMW is a composite plastic product which is the strongest and most wear resistant plastic product produced. It’s often said that the UHMW edges can clear snow like a steel edge but without the surface abrasion and possible wear damage to the pavement from Steel edge. Our UHMW edges are made from premium reprocessed UHMW product which has been carefully selected to provide the best wear results and provide the optimal snow clearing results.

Why consider changing the pusher edge from the Rubber edge to a UHMW edge?

The UHMW edge is ideal for those who are clearing pavement and want a longer lasting clearing edge than the rubber edges. The UHMW edge will last longer than the rubber edge as the UHMW wears more like a steel edge.

What pavement surfaces are ideal for clearing with a UHMW edge?

Concrete and asphalt surfaces are often cleared with UHMW edges to reduce the surface abrasion which steel can cause on these surfaces.

What differences will the snow pusher operator notice between clearing the snow with a rubber edge or clearing the snow with the UHMW edges?

The primary differences operators will notice when using the UHMW edge on the pusher include;

  • The UHMW edges will scrape hard packed snow or ice better than the rubber edge due to the UHMW’s harder edge.

  • The UHMW will make contact with pavement expansion joints causing more noise and machine shudder. If the pavement has uneven edges, the pusher might have to be lifted at severe expansion joints or where the pavement is uneven to reduce the impact from the UHMW sharp edge.

  • Make sure to raise the pusher when pushing snow off the pavement onto lawn or grass areas.

  • If the pavement is not flat or level, the UHMW may leave areas of the pavement uncleared due to the very straight edge of the UHMW material, that will not conform to the surface the way the rubber edge does.

  • If you perform extensive snow clearing and are looking for a long lasting edge that won’t leave behind surface abrasion like the steel edges, the UHMW is an excellent consideration.

  • Make sure to read the “Special Use Instructions” below about using a UHMW edge in place of where you had been clearing snow with a rubber pusher edge so you are aware of the operational differences between the two edges.

What makes our edges different from others sold?

  • Our edges are professionally machined for optimal fit

  • We provide multiple adjustment holes in our edges for vertical adjustment of the machined edges during use. Providing vertical adjustment on the UHMW edge to assure best edge positioning for your needs.

  • Our edges are all Double Sided for maximum wear life and durability, when the first wear edge is worn after extensive use, unbolt the edge and flip it over and reinstall it on your pusher to use the next wear edge.

  • Our edges ship with a full set of new corrosion resistant hardware to make the installation and future adjustments trouble free.

Why the UHMW Edge is a great snow pusher upgrade

  • UHMW is very durable can scrape the pavement like a steel edge without the surface damage.

  • Our UHMW edge is never going to rust or corrode so they don’t need any future maintenance.

  • Our UHMW edge is 1” thick for the 72”, 84” and 96” pusher widths to provide maximum strength.

  • Our UHMW pusher edge ships with new hardware to make the installation of the new edge trouble free.

A Commercial Grade UHMW Edge is available

Those owners who use their Frontier AS10H snow pusher commercially to clear multiple properties or large pavement areas may want to consider our commercial grade UHMW edge. This commercial Grade UHMW Edge is

  • 1.5” thick versus the 1” thick UHMW edge we offer

  • The commercial edge has multiple installation position holes for adjustment as the edge wears.

  • Also double sided and the UHMW edge can be flipped over to provide twice the wear life.

  • The commercial grade UHMW edge ships with Stainless Hardware to install this thicker and more robust UHMW edge. The Stainless Hardware assures you can adjust or reverse the UHMW after extensive use. The hardware includes Stainless cap screws, flat washers and lock nuts to install the commercial UHMW edge.

  • Its very important that Stainless Hardware be lubricated with silicone or a similar lubricant before installation or any time the hardware is removed and reinstalled. Also, Stainless Hardware should be tightened by hand and not installed with an impact or other power tool to avoid damaging the hardware.

  • Select your pushers size and the Commercial edge if you desire to order this heavier duty edge for your pusher.

Thank you for your interest in our Premium UHMW edges for the Frontier AS10H Snow Pusher. We also offer a Rubber Edge or Edge Kit, for those customers who need a gentler edge for clearing the pavement. Our rubber edge for these pushers is listed here on our site.

If you need to scrape hard packed snow and ice from the pavement, the UHMW edge on the snow pusher is more suited for the use than the rubber edge.

‍ ‍Whether a Premium Rubber Edge is best, or a UHMW Edge is the choice for you, we can make it for your Frontier AS10H Snow Pusher. Please contact us with any questions you may have.

Benefits of our Premium UHMW edge over the rubber edge on the Frontier AS10H snow pusher includes

  • The UHMW Edge is ideal for scraping hard packed snow and ice. If the pavement you are clearing is often driven over before the snow is cleared, the UHMW edge will making clearing the pavement easier.

Special Use Instructions and Considerations

When changing from the Rubber edge to our UHMW Edge on your Frontier AS10H Pusher, make sure to follow these use steps and precautions with your new UHMW Edge.

  • Use caution when clearing snow with a UHMW edge and pushing snow onto grass or lawn areas. The UHMW edge will strip the grass surface with its sharper edge.

  • Make sure to raise the pusher slightly from the pavement surface when pushing snow from paved areas to grass or lawn areas. The sharp edge of the UHMW edge can and will damage grass or lawn areas as well as possibly damaging surface mounted sprinkler heads and other irrigation items.

Asphalt surfaces less than 1 year old or those aged Asphalt Surfaces which have had surface repairs such as hot crack filling, surface pothole repairs or other surface repairs require extra care when clearing snow.

  • Extra care should be taken when using a UHMW edge on pavement that has surface repairs such as asphalt surfaces with “hot crack filling” or other surface repairs. The UHMW edge can catch surface repairs and remove them from the pavement.

  • Use the minimum surface down pressure on such surfaces to avoid damaging or removing previous pavement repairs.

  • If your pavement is asphalt and the surface is less than one year old, be careful using the UHMW edge as the edge can score new asphalt that is not “grayed in” or had a chance to fully cure.

Changing your Frontier AS10H pusher edge from the Frontier Rubber edge to one of our UHMW Edges? Your pushers steel straps will be used to secure the UHMW edge on the pusher in the same manner as the rubber edge is installed on your pusher.

If you need these steel edge straps to install the UHMW edge on your pusher, please call us and we can have the steel straps produced in our shop for you. The steel straps will need to be powder coated to protect the metal from the rust and corrosion, which adds about a week of time to our production of these items.

‍ Adjusting the position of your new UHMW edge, by using the selected row of edge mounting holes.

Please note, the UHMW Edge will be produced with multiple installation position holes on the edge, to provide you options on the installation height. Due to the size of the snow pusher and the down pressure that can be applied during its use, we will produce the edge with specific mounting hole locations in the edge, instead of using a vertical slot in the edge.

This assures the edge remains in position when installed and during use. To change the position of the UHMW edge, you will unbolt the edge straps, select a new installation position and reinstall the edge. This is how the edge position will be changed during use, to keep the edge at the desire use height. Images of the UHMW edge show two rows of position mounting holes. This is typically how the edge will be produced unless you request additional mounting hole locations.
