It’s very important to understand that to properly make a plow edge kit, you must consider the plows width as well as its operating weight. Since these plows are made for different size tractors, look at the tremendous difference in the plows weight based upon the plows width.

Look at the weight of these plows compared to their clearing width. A plow 5’ wide weighs 255 pounds. One two feet wider weighs TRIPLE the weight. The largest plow that is twice the width of the smallest Frontier plow, weighs more than 4x the weight.

The plow edge MUST be designed for the plows width and weight. You shouldn’t use the same edge on plows with such drastic weight differences.

Yes, our Extreme edges are Extreme, especially compared to Frontier’s edges. Frontier only offers one edge for each plow width.

All of our Extreme Duty Rubber Kits Include the following

• UHMW Mounting straps based upon the size and weight of the rubber. The larger and heavier the rubber edge, the taller and thicker the UHMW strap tom properly secure the rubber edge on the plow.

• The rubber edges which are 8” tall will have plug cut mounting holes in rows, to prevent any edge movement on the plow. There are 3 rows of mounting holes to get the best total wear results from the edge kit.

• The UHMW edges have fixed position holes as well, to securely hold the rubber and UHMW on the plow. As heavy as these large plows are and as much down pressure as they can apply, keeping the rubber in place is very important.

• The new edges all include new hardware.

• And Upgrade to stainless hardware is available for each Extreme Duty Plow Edge Kit at an additional cost.

are our residential level plow edge kit.

The Standard Duty kit is for the plow owner clearing their residential driveway and perhaps two or three neighbors. The standard duty kit is intended to be used by the tractor owners;

• 20 to 30 times per winter season

• Each snow clearing is expected to take 60 to 90 minutes.

• Planned seasonal use is 20 to 30 hours per season

• Expected plow edge life at this use level is 3 to 4 seasons*

Heavy Duty‍ ‍Edges / Kits,

are our heavy residential, light commercial use plow edge kit.

The Heavy Duty Kit is for the plow owner using their plow to clear snow;

• 30 to 40 times per winter season

• Each snow clearing is expected to take 90 to 120 minutes

• Planned seasonal use is 50 to 100 hours per season

• Expected plow edge life at this use level is 3 to 4 seasons*

Extreme Duty Edges/ Kits

are for those owners who insist on the very best equipment for their use, or they spend a great deal of time clearing snow each winter. It specifically is for those who

• Clear snow 40+ times per season

• Spend 4 to 8+ hours every time they clear snow

• Their equipment is often operated by several different operators

• Their snow clearing areas involve side walks, parking areas, building entrances, etc.

• Clear very challenging pavement areas with curbs, sidewalks and other varying pavement surfaces.

• Often include medical centers, schools, college campuses, municipalities and others who clear snow 150 to 300 hours per season.

• Even with such demanding snow clearing conditions, our Extreme Duty Kits and edges should still provide 3 or more seasons of use.*
