Back Drag Rubber Edge 5FP1352468 For 120" wide Frontier AS11E pusher

from $215.00
Material:

We will make a custom back drag edge for your Frontier AS11E 120” wide snow pusher. You select which material best meets your needs for using your AS11E Snow Pusher.

Option 1. - Rubber Material which replaces the5FP1352468 back drag rubber edge. This edge is 8” tall, 1” thick and the measured width of your AS11E 120” Back Drag Arm.

Option 2. - UHMW material, which is the Ultra High Molecular Weight composite plastic material. This edge is also 8” tall, 1” thick and custom made to fit the width of your AS11E 120” Back Drag Arm.

Selecting the best back drag edge material can improve your snow pushers function and better meet your needs. We offer two edges for the Frontier AS11E back drag arm, our Premium rubber back drag edge or our UHMW back drag edge material.

Please note, Frontier doesn’t offer a UHMW back drag edge. Also, the Frontier back drag rubber edge is a much lighter and lower quality rubber edge than the Premium rubber edge we produce for these snow pushers.

Heavy Snow Pushers require Premium Back drag edge materials

The Frontier AS11E snow pushers are large and heavy. Here are their estimated use weights for these snow pushers with the optional back drag edges installed

The 96” wide AS11E snow pusher weighs about 970 pounds

The 108” wide AS11E snow pusher weighs about 1,190 pounds

The 120” wide AS11E snow pusher weighs about 1,300 pounds

They are used on tractors with a great deal of hydraulic down pressure available on their Front End Loaders, on which these snow pushers mount. It’s imperative the back drag edge be of high quality so the edge material can endure seasons of use.

Our Premium Rubber or UHMW Back Drag edge Material. Which is best for your snow clearing needs?

The Premium Rubber back drag edge is ideal for those

  • Clearing snow from grass areas or portions of lawns, etc. but care is required to control the back drag arm down pressure.

  • When snow is pushed from the pavement onto the grass areas, just make sure to slightly lift the edge as you exit the pavement.

  • Seeking a QUIET, low friction material to clear snow.

  • If you have brick pavers, colored or imprinted concrete, custom driveway materials or any surface you want to protect against surface abrasion and damage, the Premium Rubber edges are likely the best for your use.

  • If your pavement has numerous edge joints between materials, such as brick pavers, landscape blocks or stones we encourage the use of the Premium rubber back drag edge to avoid damaging or displacing the surface materials.

  • Desires to also squeegee water and moisture when clearing snow.

  • Our Premium Back Drag rubber edge is a great addition to any snow clearing machine.

Our UHMW back drag edge material is ideal If you

  • often have hard packed snow or ice and you need to scrape to clear from pavement.

  • It’s also well suited to use on traditional concrete or asphalt driveway surfaces.

  • The UHMW is also a very low friction material, meaning it doesn’t cause the surface damage of steel when used on any pavement surface.

  • Need a long wearing, durable material which wears like a steel edge but without all of the surface friction damage which steel edges inflict on pavement.

  • Want to avoid possible rust stains on the pavement.

  • We machine our UHMW edges to remove the sharp corners and any points which are likely to damage new asphalt, but we urge care until the asphalt has fully cured for one year.

  • We suggest you avoid using the UHMW back drag edge on any driveway or exterior surface that could be prone to being easily damaged such as aggregate finishes or any premium driveway finish.

Why the weight of our SBS, Premium Rubber back drag edge is important when considering a rubber edge to replace the Frontier rubber back drag edge.

The 120” long Frontier rubber edge, part number 5FP1352468 weighs 33 pounds. Our Premium rubber edge weighs 51 pounds, or 18 pounds heavier. That’s 68% heavier in rubber material mass and density. That means our rubber edge is stronger, will last longer and is less likely to be damaged or broken during use in normal conditions.

If you are investing in a replacement rubber edge, get the rubber edge that will provide you the longest wear life and greatest use period. This is why we carefully source our materials and we select the rubber edge that will provide you the greatest value. When the rubber is 68% heavier than the edge it replaces, its going to be stronger, last longer and provide a better snow clearing experience.

Nearly weekly, customers send us photo’s of their Frontier rubber edges on snow plows and pushers that have broken, split and some even appear to “melt”, as strange as that is, when clearing snow. But we see the results of Frontier using lighter weight, softer rubber and how it just doesn’t last as long or work as well as it should and as our edges do. *

Our Premium Rubber back drag edge is the best edge and value for you because, each of our edges;

  1. Are custom made to fit your pusher, so we will be confirming some key dimensions on your pusher.

  2. Include all new corrosion resistant mounting hardware to make the installation trouble free.

  3. Our edges are all double sided, so when you have worn down the first wear edge, flip the edge over to use the other side, which will still be new and unused.

  4. We offer optional upgrades to improve your snow pushers functions, such as our UHMW back drag edge wear pads to spread the snow clearing load across the entire back drag arm.

  5. We ask questions about your use and working together, to make sure we produce an edge that will achieve all of the benefits it should.

  6. While some are offering cheap imported rubber they drill holes in and sell on some sites, we custom make your edge in Michigan, using locally sourced materials and using all American labor to produce your product. Our edges are superior as making snow clearing edges is our business.

  7. Our Rubber Edge material is significantly heavier and more dense than the Frontier rubber material. Our rubber weighs over 68% MORE than the Frontier rubber edge it replaces. This makes our rubber edge stronger, longer lasting and more durable.

Made in the USA and proud of it.

This edge is produced when ordered, so please allow 15 business days before shipment for this edge to be made for your use.

Therefore, we prefer to confirm the mounting dimensions on YOUR pushers back drag arm. It’s a simple process and we either can go over it with you on the phone or send you a information form to complete. The process is simple and takes just a couple of minutes of your time and includes measuring with a regular tape measure.

After we receive your order, we will contact you and provide you with these simple steps to confirm a few key dimensions. We feel it is time well spent to make sure your edge is perfect for your machine when it arrives and to avoid wasting materials, machine time and labor and shipping costs.

Optional Back Drag Edge Mounting Straps are Available

If the steel straps which hold your rubber back drag edge are damaged, heavily worn or rusty, etc., we can produce new mounting straps to secure this edge on your snow pusher. We can cut these mounting straps from steel or optional UHMW composite material.

The UHMW Back Drag Edge Should be mounted with steel mounting straps

UHMW is an extremely low surface friction product and is best held on your machines back drag arm using the steel straps. If you need new steel mounting straps for your back drag edge, we can produce them for you.

Steel mounting straps require a powder coating finish to protect them from corrosion, etc and this adds a week to 10 days to their production time if we don’t have the steel straps in stock at the time of your UHMW back drag edge order.

The Rubber Back Drag Edge can be mounted with steel or UHMW Mounting straps.

If the steel straps which are already on your snow pusher to hold the Frontier rubber edge are in good condition, you can use those straps to clamp our Premium Rubber or UHMW edge on your pusher.

If your steel straps are in poor condition or are damaged or missing or rusty, we can make new mounting straps for your back drag edge.

Please note, the mounting straps are an additional purchase item and are not included with EITHER the rubber or UHMW back drag edge when purchased.

Important differences between the Steel and

UHMW Back Drag edge mounting straps include;

Steel Edge Mounting Straps

  • Less expensive than UHMW, but require powder coating or painting.

  • These often will twist and can bend with use.

  • Will become chipped and the finish will require seasonal painting or other finishing to stop rust and corrosion from breaking down the steel material.

  • ‍These straps will rust and over time, will require maintenance or could ultimately require replacement.

Ultra High Molecular Weight Composite Material (UHMW) Straps

  • Solid dense and very strong plastic material

  • Much lighter in weight than steel straps.

  • More costly than steel straps due to higher material costs, but once installed, no more action is required.

  • Easier to install and make adjustments with as they are lighter and don’t twist and distort over time as steel straps will.

  • Machined to fit the mounting on your back drag edge

  • Can’t rust, won‘t chip or require any painting or finishing.

  • A solid material which can absorb some impacts and other loads which will twist and damage the steel straps.

  • We make the UHMW straps thicker and wider than the steel straps they replace to provide larger clamping area on the rubber edge. On the Frontier AS11E snow pusher, our back drag edge UHMW straps are 1” thick and the same width as the steel back drag straps which came on the pusher.
