Material:

We will make a custom back drag edge for your Frontier AS11E 108” wide snow pusher. You select which material best meets your needs for using your AS11E Snow Pusher.

Option 1. - Rubber Material which replaces the 5FP1352540 back drag rubber edge. This edge is 8” tall, 1” thick and the measured width of your AS11E 108” Back Drag Arm.

Option 2. - UHMW material, which is the Ultra High Molecular Weight composite plastic material. This edge is also 8” tall, 1” thick and custom made to fit the width of your AS11E 108” Back Drag Arm.

We find that many snow pusher operators prefer being able to select the back drag edge material to best meet their use needs of their snow pushers.

Many prefer to make the main edge on their snow pushers from our High Quality Rubber Edge for quiet, low surface friction pavement cleaning. The rubber won’t damage the pavement as steel does and it also is much kinder to expansion joints and pavement surface repairs. The right rubber edge is a great addition to any snow clearing machine.

Others like to use our UHMW Edge for the main unit or the back drag arm. The UHMW is a very strong material which is ideal for scraping the pavement and removing hard packed snow and ice. The UHMW is also a very low friction material, meaning it doesn’t cause the surface damage of steel when used on any pavement surface.

You can choose from the rubber edge material or we can also make the edge our of UHMW Material. This allows you to select which edge material will best meet your needs.

Which Back Drag edge is Best For your snow clearing?

Rubber edges are best for those who have these needs or are clearing snow from these surfaces.

Grass areas or portions of lawns, etc. but care is required to control the down pressure.

  • Have pavement with uneven surface or that has experienced numerous surface repairs such as crack filling, pothole repair, etc.

  • Have brick pavers or another stone or hard surface with extensive joints, etc.

  • Have colored concrete or any surface which requires extra care when clearing snow.

  • Desires to also squeegee water and moisture when clearing snow.

  • Need a quiet edge material to reduce the noise while clearing snow.

UHMW Edges are best for those clearing;

  • Hard packed snow or ice from the surface

  • Have established pavement which is relatively smooth and even on the surface.

  • Who need to scrape down on the pavement to make sure snow and ice in walking areas, etc. is removed.

  • ‍ ‍Need a long wearing, durable material which wears like a steel edge but without all of the surface damage which steel edges inflict on pavement.

  • If you are using on new asphalt surfaces less than one year old, use care as the asphalt which is “green” and hasn’t fully cured can be damaged with a UHMW edge in some limited circumstances.

  • We machine our UHMW edges to remove the sharp corners and any points which are likely to damage this new asphalt, but we urge care until the asphalt has fully cured.

Other special benefits of purchasing your back drag edge from SulleyBear Solutions, LLC is that each of our edges;

  1. Are custom made to fit your pusher, so we will be confirming some key dimensions on your pusher.

  2. Include all new corrosion resistant mounting hardware to make the installation trouble free.

  3. Our edges are professionally machined to include vertical adjustment so you can position the edge to best meet your needs.

  4. Our edges are all double sided, so when you have worn down the first wear edge, flip the edge over to use the other side, which will still be new and unused.

  5. If you would like additional adjustment capabilities with your pusher edge, we can machine additional adjustment capabilities into the edges to give you maximum use of your pushers back drag arm edge material.

  6. We produce a custom made edge, to meet our customers needs. We ask questions about your use and working together, we produce an edge that will achieve all of the benefits it should.

  7. While some are offering cheap imported rubber they drill holes in and sell on some sites, we custom make your edge in Michigan, using locally sourced materials and using all American labor to produce your product. Our edges are superior as making snow clearing edges is our business.

Made in the USA and proud of it.

This edge is produced when ordered, so please allow 15 business days before shipment for this edge to be made for your use.

Our back drag edges are shipped

  • Instead of being limited to the single mounting holes in the center of the rubber, we machine vertical adjustment slots in the rubber to allow you to get the maximum use and wear from the edge.

  • Our UHMW Material is machined with alternate adjustment holes to best position the edge for your needs.

  • We make the edges so you can control how much edge material you want beneath the back drag arm. This allows you to make adjustments to best meet your needs.

Optional Back Drag Edge Mounting Straps are Available

If the steel straps which hold your rubber back drag edge are damaged, heavily worn or rusty, etc., we can produce new mounting straps to secure this edge on your snow pusher. We can cut these mounting straps from steel or optional UHMW composite material.

Only the rubber edge requires these mounting straps to help clamp and support the back drag edge material. UHMW back drag edges are mounted using special clamping washers we provide with the hardware. You can also use the steel straps which are already on your snow pusher to clamp our UHMW edge on your pusher if they are in good condition.

Please note, the mounting straps are an additional purchase item and are not included with EITHER back drag edge when purchased.

The differences between these materials are;

Steel Edge Mounting Straps

  • Less expensive than UHMW, but require powder coating or painting.

  • These often will twist and can bend with use.

  • Will become chipped and the finish will require seasonal painting or other finishing to stop rust and corrosion from breaking down the steel material.

  • ‍These straps will rust and over time, will require replacement.

Ultra High Molecular Weight Composite Material (UHMW) Straps

  • Solid dense and very strong plastic material

  • Much lighter in weight than steel straps.

  • More costly than steel straps, but once installed, no more action is required.

  • Easier to install and make adjustments with as they are lighter and don’t twist and distort over time as steel straps will.

  • Machined to fit the mounting on your back drag edge

  • Can’t rust, won ‘t chip or require any painting or finishing

  • A solid material which can absorb some impacts and other loads which will twist and damage the steel straps.

  • We make the UHMW straps thicker and wider than the steel straps they replace to provide larger clamping area on the rubber edge.
