The UHMW wear edge and UHMW shoes / runners are specifically designed and made to replace the M155105 steel wear edge and the M135188 runners or shoes.
UHMW is Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene, which is a very strong, very durable and long lasting material which has very low surface friction. The UHMW makes the wear edge and shoes much smoother, quieter and most importantly, it stops the pavement damage caused by the steel wear edge and shoes. Due to the very low surface friction, the UHMW often lasts as long or even longer than the steel wear materials it replaces.

because when the steel edge and shoes are replaced with the UHMW material, it stops the grinding and steel scraping of the pavement that leaves behind rust, damages the sealer surface and wears on the pavement in general.
The M135188 steel shoes on the blower have about 3/16” of wear edge when new on the blower. They are single sided, so when the steel bottom wear edge is worn down, you have to replace the steel shoes.
Our UHMW Shoes are double sided and have 1” of surface wear material. When the first side of the UHMW shoes wears down, unbolt the shoes and flip them over and use the new, 2nd wear surface on the shoes. See the shoes pictures for details.

How long will the UHMW wear edge and shoes / runners last? Several seasons with typical use is common. Avoid excessive down pressure on the edge and the wear edge and runners / shoes will last longer. The UHMW wear edge and shoes should last twice as long as the steel wear edges due to lower friction, thicker material and double wear edges.
Shipping - The long wear edge and shoes are in one long package. The shoes / runners are shrink wrapped to the wear edge, the hardware packages are in the box with the installation and use instructions.
