We have designed special upgrade and replacement edges for replacing the steel plow edge on the

46” front snow plow on the

Deere 100 and 200 Series lawn tractors.

We offer two different types of plow edge for your plow. We offer you a UHMW edge or a Rubber Plow edge. Within each type, there are also two choices, detailed below.

Why do most people change their plow’s steel edge to our UHMW or Rubber plow edges?

To stop the damage to the pavement. The steel edge is abrasive to the pavement and wears both the plow and the pavement over time. Driveways are expensive to maintain and very expensive to replace. Protecting the pavement by not grinding on the surface with the steel edge is very helpful in prolonging a driveways useful life.

UHMW Plow Edge

Single Side Residential Edge is 2” tall, 45.5” wide and 1/2 inch thick

Double Side UHMW edge is 5” tall, 45.5” wide and 1/2” thick

  • UHMW is a composite product made of plastic and other materials.

  • UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) plow edges are extremely strong and ideal for scraping hard pack snow and ice.

  • UHMW is not abrasive and won’t damage MOST asphalt surfaces when used with care.

  • Just be careful using a UHMW edge on asphalt which is very new, as it tends to be softer until the asphalt “grays in”, or when it cures and turns the gray color of seasoned asphalt.

  • Also use care on driveway repairs as it can displace crack filling or other surface repairs with down pressure applied.

No more damage to asphalt sealer, no more rust on the surface or garage floor. End the loud scraping and screeching noise of the steel edge on the pavement. Plus, the UHMW has much less surface friction, to reduce the wear on the pavement surface.

Residential Duty Rubber Plow Edge

4” tall x 1/2” thick, . We make this plow edge with holes down the center of the edge, to give it two wear edges for longer wear life. When the first side is worn down, simply unbolt the edge strap and flip the edge over and reinstall it on the plow. A direct bolt on to your plow to easily replace the steel edge on the plow. Uses the steel plow edge from your plow to mount the rubber edge on your plow. Ideal for the average residential snow clearing tasks.

Heavy Duty Rubber Plow Edge

4” tall and 3/4” thick, This edge is also made to allow two wear edges for longer wear life. When the first side is worn down, simply unbolt the edge strap and flip the edge over and reinstall it on the plow. Mounts on your plow using the steel plow edge to hold the rubber edge on your plow. The heavy duty rubber edge is for the owner who is clearing multiple driveways with each snowfall. Also for the plow owner seeking the best rubber edge for their plow.

All of our edge products ship to you with these benefits and features;

  • Rubber Edges have the mounting holes cut down the center of the edge, to give it double wear life

  • The Single Side UHMW edges have holes machined into the UHMW along the top of the edge.

  • The Double Side UHMW edges have mounting holes down the center of the edge. This provides you with two wear edges for your use.

  • The holes are made to hold the carriage bolts snugly to install the UHMW edge on your plow. Very easy to install, the hardware is designed to hold the UHMW edge to the plow with no additional strap needed.

  • However, If you have the steel wear edge on your plow, you can use the steel edge as the strap to hold the new plow edge on your plow. Just make sure to flip the steel edge upside down so the sharp edge of the steel is facing the TOP of the plow. This prevents the sharp edge from making any contact with the new plow edge where it can damage the new edge during use.

  • If you prefer to use your steel strap to secure both the new UHMW edges or the rubber plow edges. Just make sure to flip the straps upside down before installing.

  • Also, if you are going to use your existing steel plow edge in any way to hold the new plow edge (rubber edge or UHMW), we suggest you paint the steel plow strap so any bare metal doesn’t rust on the plow.

  • All mounting holes are machine cut for easy installation. You have no drilling or cutting on the edge to get it installed, simply remove the steel strap on your plow, install the rubber edge and use the steel plow edge to secure the rubber edge on your plow.

  • Ships with complete hardware for easy installation.

Benefits of replacing the steel plow edge with our Rubber Plow Edges include;

  • The rubber plow edge stops the surface abrasion on their driveway.

  • Our rubber edge is very durable, quiet and will last a long time when used properly on the plow.

  • It eliminates the scraping and grinding of plowing the pavement with steel.

  • Rubber edges clear snow on grass areas without damaging the lawn when used as directed. Push snow off the edge of the driveway and not tear up the lawn or rip out the sprinkler heads as the rubber edge is flexible and much easier on the surface.

  • Eliminates rust stains in the driveway and on garage floor

  • Protects the asphalt surface from scraping damage.

  • Includes complete corrosion resistant hardware for easy installation.

Just a Reminder……….

  • Rubber plow edges require a mounting strap to install the rubber edge correctly, You can use your steel edge as the strap if you have it. Otherwise, you can purchase our Mounting strap to hold the rubber edge on the plow.

  • If you use the steel plow edge from your plow to install the rubber plow edge, we strongly encourage you to flip the steel edge upside down, so the bottom of the steel strap that had been clearing pavement, is away from the rubber edge on the bottom of the plow. This protects the rubber from the sharp steel edge cutting or damaging the rubber edge.

Is your steel plow edge damaged, severely worn or missing? We offer a UHMW plow edge to properly mount the rubber plow edge on your plow.

Our Rubber Plow Edge Kit includes the rubber plow edge of your choice and our specially made, lightweight UHMW mounting strap to secure the rubber on the plow. The UHMW mounting strap is designed as a strap to hold the rubber edge properly on the plow face.

It’s not made to be a snow clearing edge to directly scrape on the pavement. It’s made to clamp the rubber edge to the plow properly. The UHMW strap is purely an edge clamping strap to hold the rubber edge correctly to the plow.

If you need a clamping edge to secure the rubber to the plow, order the Plow Edge KIT to get the edge and the strap with the hardware to install.

If your plow still has the steel plow edge on it, use your steel plow edge to serve as your strap as long as there is enough of it left to bolt across the plow.

Rubber Edge is excellent for fresh snow clearing. Hard pack snow which has been driven on or surface ice will likely require the use of a snow melt product to loosen the hard pack or ice so the rubber edge can clear it from the pavement.

Common Questions and Answers

Q.1.- What wears out plow edges prematurely?

Simple, excessive plow down pressure. If you have to push down hard on your plow to get it to clear the pavement, you have the wrong plow edge material. If your plow is damaging the pavement, you have the wrong plow edge material. If your driveway has rust stains in it, or the asphalt is gouged and scraped up, you need to change the plow edge.

Q. 2.- How long does it take to change to these plow edges"?

The process is simple, raise and secure the plow. Some also like to remove the plow so they can position the plow with the moldboard facing up to make the plow easier to work on. Most of these edges replace in 10 to 25 minutes, depending upon ones skill and mechanical experience.

Q. 3.- Which Edge should I buy based upon my driveway material type?

Driveway Surface Types, best Plow Edges

Concrete or Asphalt - Rubber Plow Edge or UHMW Plow Edge

Brick Pavers or any specialty surface - Rubber Plow Edge to prevent surface displacement or damage.

Gravel, Crushed Aggregate - Rubber or UHMW plow, or steel plow edge.

Plowing on any grass surfaces - Rubber plow edge, for making paths for pets or to bird feeders, etc.

When you order our plow edges, we ship to you

  • Ready to install plow edge, all machined and cut and ready to install and use.
