46" Deere Snowplow Plow Edges, replaces Deere edge GXH24524

from $90.00

Free Ground Shipping to the Lower 48 States

We have the plow edges for your 46” Deere front plow to replace the steel plow edge on the plow. Whether you want to use a Rubber Plow Edge, a UHMW Plow Edge or a steel plow edge for your plow, we offer a precision cut edge solution for the 46” Deere front plow. All of our plow edges come complete with corrosion resistant installation hardware.

If your plow is 46” wide and on a L1xx lawn mower or on a D1xx lawn mower or E1xx or other Deere lawn tractor using the 46” wide front blade, we have the replacement plow edge for you. If your plows replacement metal edge from Deere is GXH24524, we have a replacement plow edge for your plow.

Rubber Plow Edge

4” tall x 1/2” thick, made to allow two wear edges for double the wear life.

  • The rubber plow edge stops the surface abrasion on their driveway.

  • Our rubber edge is very durable, quiet and will last a long time when used properly on the plow.

  • It eliminates the scraping and grinding of plowing the pavement with steel.

  • Best news is you can push snow off the edge of the driveway and not tear up the lawn or rip out the sprinkler heads as the rubber edge is flexible and much easier on the surface.

  • Eliminates rust stains in the driveway and on garage floor

  • Protects the asphalt surface from scraping damage.

  • Includes complete corrosion resistant hardware for easy installation.

  • Requires a mounting strap to install the rubber edge correctly, You can use your steel edge as the strap if you have it. Otherwise, you can purchase our Mounting strap to hold the rubber edge on the plow.

Rubber Edge is excellent for snow clearing. Hard pack snow which has been driven on or surface ice will likely require the use of a snow melt product to loosen the hard pack or ice so the rubber edge can clear it from the pavement.

UHMW Plow Edge

Single side wear edge is 2” tall, 45.5” wide and 1/2 inch thick

Double side wear edge 3.5” tall, 45.5” wide and 1/2” thick

  • UHMW is a composite product made of plastic and other materials.

  • Ultra High Molecular Weight plow edges are extremely strong and ideal for scraping hard pack snow and ice.

  • UHMW is not abrasive and won’t damage MOST asphalt surfaces when used with care.

  • Just be careful using a UHMW edge on asphalt which is very new, as it tends to be softer until the asphalt “grays in”, or when it cures and turns the gray color of seasoned asphalt.

  • Also use care on driveway repairs as it can displace crack filling or other surface repairs with down pressure applied.

Steel Wear Edge

  • Cut to fit the plow exactly as the OEM strap which came on your plow.

  • Our

  • Use on gravel or surfaces which the surface abrasion of steel isn’t a concern.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the mildest edge and 10 being a steel plow edge, the UHMW is about a 7, where the rubber edge is a 3.

How long can you expect these wear edges to last? *

Used correctly, these edges will last a long time. Here are examples

Rubber edge should provide 200 driveway plows per side, 400 per edge.

UHMW edge should provide 300 drive plows for single side edge, double that for two sided edges.

Steel should provider 250 driveway plows. Steel edges are single side only.

*Assumes plowing a 150’ long paved driveway of average width 10 to 14 feet wide. Excessive down pressure will shorten wear life. These are not guarantees and are only estimates. Actual results will vary.

What wears out plow edges prematurely?

Simple, excessive plow down pressure. If you have to push down hard on your plow to get it to clear the pavement, you have the wrong plow edge material. If your plow is damaging the pavement, you have the wrong plow edge material. If your driveway has rust stains in it, or the asphalt is gouged and scraped up, you need to change the plow edge.

Our Plow edges include

  • Detailed instructions, Easy to install and fit perfectly. No cutting, drilling, etc,

  • Come with full installation hardware for easy installation.

  • Rubber and UHMW Are quiet, don’t damage the pavement and work great.

Which Edge should I buy based upon my driveway material type?

Driveway Surface Types, best Plow Edges

Concrete or Asphalt - Rubber Plow Edge or UHMW Plow Edge

Brick Pavers or any specialty surface - Rubber Plow Edge to prevent surface displacement or damage.

Gravel, Crushed Aggregate - Rubber or UHMW plow, or steel plow edge.

Plowing on any grass surfaces - Rubber plow edge, for making paths for pets or to bird feeders, etc.

Thanks for your interest in our plow edges, you will find them a welcome change on your plow and its extremely unusual for someone to switch from the steel edge to our rubber or UHMW edge and desire to return to steel. Few miss the pavement grinding and scraping of the steel edge.
