The 46” Single Stage Quick Hitch Snowblower is a excellent Single Stage Snow blower. Now, by offering our UHMW Wear edges and shoes to replace the steel shoes on the blower, we have made this great blower even better.
Replace the worn steel wear edge and stop pavement surface damage
UHMW is an extremely strong, very wear resistant and ideal wear surface to avoid leaving rust on the garage floor and driveway.
The 46” Single stage blower uses a steel “U” shaped wear bar underneath that is inverted. This steel grinds directly on the pavement when clearing snow. Now only does this damage the surface pavement, it also wears out the steel blower wear bar and shoes, which can lead to more extensive blower damage.
We produce a counter sunk UHMW wear bar that uses special stainless steel carriage bolts to install the wear bar. We provide the hardware to install this wear bar. Be careful handling the old steel wear bar as they can be razor sharp from the steel wear bar grinding on the driveway over the years.
Our UHMW wear bar is machined and has counter sunk hardware locations to ensure the steel wear edge is eliminated from the driveway and the UHMW replaces it. Also we use our 3/4” thick UHMW shoes to replace the blower shoes.
You can purchase the UHMW wear bar, the UHMW shoes or our
Pavement Protection Package.
This is a grouping of the UHMW wear bar, UHMW shoes, hardware to install and the installation Instructions provides the best deal to you.
If you want to stop the steel wear bar and shoes from grinding on your driveway, I strongly suggest you install our Pavement Protection package. Its very likely to be the last wear bar and shoes you will have to install on this blower. Also, it will eliminate the surface grinding, screeching and scratching of the pavement. It makes the blower easier to push, much quieter and even improves the tractors steering as the friction is greatly reduced.
The most common response we get is “I can’t believe the difference the Pavement Protection Package makes in how quiet the blower is, how smooth is pushes, how well it cleans the pavement and how the tractor turns better.”
Use Caution as very worn steel wear bars can be very sharp and also require drilling out the hardware to replace the wear bar.
Due to the years of wear on the blower steel wear bar, its very likely time for a replacement anyway, to protect the blower housing from damage. Please note in the photos, I show the replacement of these wear bars, what they look like and why its important to replace the steel wear bar.
Please note, due to the typical age of the 46” Single Stage Snowblower, the steel wear bar under the blower as well as the steel shoes are often very worn. Be careful working with this steel as its likely very sharp from grinding on the pavement over the years. The blower mounts this steel wear that bar in a manner that likely will have worn down the nuts holding down the steel wear bar. You may have to drill out the old hardware to replace the steel wear bar.
Details on how to handle this task are included in the instructions. Should you have questions please feel free to call us. Also, replacement of the worn steel wear bar will help protect wear damage to the actual blower housing.
